This past weekend six Lakewood sailors participated in the Mallory Cup in Seattle, WA. The team, Zane Rogers, Dutch Byerly, Noah Zittrer, Katie McGagh, Kelly Bates, and Matthew Morrell, competed against the top high schools in the nation for a chance to be crowned high school fleet racing national champions. Sailing out of Sail Sand Point, the team faced tough conditions. Saturday was very light and shifty eventually leading to unsailable conditions. Sunday started with a bit more breeze, but eventually ended with the same result as Saturday. Congratulations to the Clear Falls team on finishing 8th in the regatta. Results can be found here
